Miss Ghana USA + D’ Haute = Team GOLD!!

News is buzzing throughout Chicago that Team D’ Haute struck gold at the Miss Ghana USA 2012 Pageant.

On Friday, July 27th, ten Ghanian women took centerstage as pageant contestants in this year’s event, which was held at the DuSable Museum.

For the first time, contestants ripped the runway wearing jewelry exclusively provided by the D’ Haute Collection.

Sachka Leon-Kapity, co-founder of D’ Haute, assisted the natural beauties with jewelry selections to accesorize their ensembles. “It was so wonderful to witness such grace within the contestants during the Miss Ghana USA pageant…. these are the type of women D’ Haute Collection models after.”

Grace. Style. Dynamic. Beauty. Unique. Every contestant possesses these qualities, which truly defines the makeup of the D’ Haute Collection.

Although every woman who graced the runway looked stunning, there could only be one winner. Hilda Frimpong, from the Ashanti Region of Ghana, was crowned this year’s beauty pageant winner. The purpose of the Miss Ghana USA Pageant is “to find and promote exceptional women with a strong interest in education, humanitarian issues and the Ghanaian culture”.

Leon-Kapity shares some of her highlights from the eveving. “The contestants captivated the audience with their swimsuits, evening wear, and talent portion of the competition. They represented their region of Ghana very well. Congrats Hilda Frimpong on her winning the title of Miss Ghana USA!”

What Is Summer Heating Up For You? The Heat is here!!! No, not the Miami Heat (although I’m sure many of you are fans), but to the hot summer weather that’s been warming us all up! I think I’ve met more people in the past two months who are recently engaged than I ever have before.. could be due to the fact that I’m getting older and many people in my age group are making those lifetime commitments to the love of their life. What have you planned to commit to this summer? Taking a family vacation trip… eating healthier and exercising more… going to as many block parties as possible… to live and enjoy life to the fullest.. Since there is an endless array of possibilities, I think a great challenge is to commit to living in the moment. Experience life for all that it has in store for you today and just take each day as it comes. Committing to the present moment can be a challenge for most. It’s easy to become anxious about our tomorrows or frown upon our pasts, but this time right now is all we have.. and, it’s SUMMER TIME!!! A great excuse for you to laugh harder, cry only tears of joy, be happy for no apparent reason, and become an expert at spending your time doing absolutely nothing! So, take up my Summer Time Challenge to Live In the Now! The present is truly a gift… I know that when I give a gift to someone, I don’t like to know that’s it’s being wasted or unappreciated. It’s a matter of choice, to be honest, but if today was handed to you as a gift then treat it with care and spend it wisely.
